Our lovely home, the farm Mair am Bach, is located on the outskirts of the sunny village of Riscone in the heart of the Pusteria Valley. The name of the farm already gives some insight into the special feature of the building: on the one hand, the Mair farms in South Tyrol are historically among the oldest farms in a village and the addition “by the stream” (am Bach) describes the idyllic location of our farm. A small stream flows behind the farm. So, you will spend your holiday on a farm in South Tyrol in the middle of nature.

It is particularly important to us to work the farm, which is located in the heart of the Pusteria Valley in South Tyrol, in a sustainable manner and in harmony with nature. It doesn’t matter whether it’s for our livestock, the production of our farm products or as a gastronomic operation. The farm has 10 hectares of meadows and its private alpine pasture in East Tyrol – areas that we also use for our livestock operation with 20 young animals. The farm’s private 33-hectare forest in Riscone supplies us with wood, which we use, among other things, in the wood chip system to heat our farm. And with our 51,560 kwp photovoltaic system, we generate around 54,000 kilowatt hours of electricity a year. If you wish, you may get a closer look at the daily routine of our farm as well as the sustainability of the wood chip system and the photovoltaic system during a guided tour of the farm.

The farm for your vacation in South Tyrol is surrounded by a large garden that we have transformed into an oasis of relaxation. The perfect place to switch off and recharge your batteries in the midst of the South Tyrolean mountains. The many cozy spots with sun loungers offer a personal retreat where you may simply relax and unwind undisturbed. And our little guests can not only move around our farm safely and freely in nature, but also romp and play in our playground, feed our rabbits and goats, or fill their bellies in the snack garden.

With a sports pool, a fun pool and a baby pool,
the complex has several indoor and outdoor pools to offer.
As a guest of the farm Hof Mair am Bach you are entitled to discounted admission. Every day of your vacation you can use the tube slide and the sole pool and bathe and swim in the warm water of the other pools to your heart’s content. Flow channel, water fountains and massage benches ensure a relaxed ambiance for young and old. You will also receive a discount on the day ticket for the CRON3 sauna world. As the epitome of wellness at Plan de Corones, the sauna area was awarded the title “6-Pearl Sauna”.
In summer, you receive reduced admission to the public outdoor pool in Brunico.

A healthy farmer’s breakfast with many products from our farm and from South Tyrol. Start your day in our winter garden with a healthy farmer’s breakfast. Enjoy the farm products that we serve depending on season, harvest, and availability. Various fruits, fruit spreads and juices from our flowers and fruits around our farm. Aromatic herbs from the garden for tea and for refining dishes. Eggs, homemade desserts, and baked goods await you at the buffet. All other products such as milk, butter, yoghurt, cheese, bread, honey, bacon, and sausages etc. are sourced from other farms and South Tyrolean cooperatives.

Our traditional farm garden in the small village of Riscone in South Tyrol is not only a kitchen garden, but also a place of enjoyment and relaxation. The mixture of flowers, vegetables and aromatic herbs makes this garden a little paradise. Surrounded by a simple wooden fence, flowers, spices, and tea herbs thrive here and exude their captivating scent. The colourful berries and vegetables really make you want to produce culinary delights. We also offer a guided tour for all garden fans.

Did you have a hectic journey to Riscone in South Tyrol and forget to do the shopping for your farm holiday? No problem at all, because in our Product Corner you can purchase our farm’s own groceries depending on the season. The range on our shelves is a colourful mix: eggs from our chickens, red potatoes, herbs, fruit spreads, juices, syrups, and tea. You are also welcome to pick and harvest whatever you like from the large cottage garden.

Cook and indulge when the sun goes down
Harvesting in the garden and preparing a delicious meal is not only possible in the modern kitchens of the apartments during your holiday in South Tyrol on the farm Mair am Bach, but also outdoors. Our campfire area is ideal for original and romantic cooking experiences. On our veranda, on the other hand, fans of outdoor cooking and BBQ will find the opportunity to cook outdoors and dine in the cozy and wind-protected seating area at sunset.
